Trip Attendance - New Member Information

Driver Training and Trip Participation.
For the safety and enjoyment of all participants the club requires all drivers to be at a minimum training and skill standard on all 4x4 trips. Except for our Easy rated trips, drivers must have completed MJOC Basic Driver Training or show documentary proof of completion of a similar approved course. Our MJOC Basic Driver Training is Jeep specific and includes club rules and procedures, driver skills, correct vehicle recovery process, and vehicle control. If you have not completed these requirements you will not be able to attend trips other than Easy rating. Even experienced drivers will benefit from our course. Participants must be current members to attend any training course.

Bookings
Only current MJOC financial members can attend trips so make sure your membership is current before you book, or your booking will be removed. All bookings are on a strictly first come, first served basis. Convoy sizes are strictly enforced. Please check the attendees list to see if you are "booked". If there is insufficient space in the convoy then your status will show as "standby". When cancellations occur, you will move up the list. If there are significant over bookings then additional convoys may be added so do not hesitate to put your name down, you may end up on the trip.

Booking Cancellations
Please respect other members by letting us know if you have booked on a trip and for some reason cannot attend. If you cannot make the trip, please email bookings@mjoc.org.au as soon as possible to give someone else a trip opportunity. It is preferred that cancellations are made at least 48 hours prior to the trip.

Trip Leading
All MJOC 4x4 trips are led by trained Trip Leaders who have completed the MJOC Trip Leader Training Course. If you are interested in becoming a trip leader you should see yourself as having adequate experience and skills that would enable you to lead fun and adventurous trips into remote areas. To attend a MJOC Trip Leader Course you will need to have completed MJOC Advanced Driver Training course prior. Watch out for upcoming Trip Leader Training Courses on the training pages.

Four Wheel Drive Victoria Volunteer Participation Survey
Is your trip supporting or promoting four wheel driving in Victoria?

4WD Victoria is capturing data about the huge contribution that 4WD clubs are making in this state.
Whenever you attend a trip, if you are helping to promote or improve four wheel driving in Victoria, be it through promoting it at public events, or getting involved in track clearing, rubbish removal and clean-up-the-bush programs, hut maintenance and the like, make sure you fill out the 4WD Vic Volunteer Data Collection Form and help us demonstrate how much we are worth to the state.
