YOUR HELP IS NEEDED PLEASE

Following the recent heavy rains there has been a substantial amount of damage in the Buxton area. Although, the damage to Narbeview has been relatively minor Barb's place which backs onto the Buxton river and is also used as part of the wildlife rescue sanctuary has been substantially impacted.  Also the property in the South Cathedral Ranges which is used for the release of wildlife requires substantial clearing as a result of the floods.

The working bee will run over the entire weekend. If you are unable to attend both days but can attend one day or even a half day please come along.  The more help we can get the better.  The main tasks include:

1. Tree cutting;

2. Mowing;

3. Wiper Sniping;

4. If we can reach the area we may need to repair any damage to the release shelters and potentially move one;

5. Assist with the feeding of the rescue animals.

We will need chainsaws with appropriate PPE gear  (chain saw cert required), please bring gloves, good boots, shovels, rakes, spades, brush cutters and any other gear for clearing brush.  There will be a lot of wood cut so if you have an open fire at home please bring your trailer and we will load it up.

A BBQ Lunch and dinner will be provided and for those who are staying overnight we can set up our camp beds and swags in Rob's shed so there is no need to bring tents etc... We will also light a bon fire in the evening where we can relax and enjoy the conversation.

This is another community activity where MJOC makes a difference.
