Trip Leader Training March 2022

All of MJOC Trips are run by our trained Trip Leaders who complete an evening theory session as well as 2 days out in the bush learning their craft. The Theory includes topics such as Planning a trips, doing a recce, risk factors and safety. Over the weekend the practical components include managing a convoy, trip briefings, using radio communications, controlling and planning recoveries, winching and a variety of other tips and tricks our training team cover.
The 2 days in the bush includes camping out and various practical excercises that could be encountered while leading a trip. The Saturday includes running convoys etc and the Sunday includes winching and recovery management.
The newest crop of trainee Trip Leaders are now ready to run their first trips which will include an experienced Trip Leader as a mentor to help and guide them through their first leading experiences.
