MJOC Trip Leader Training Weekend


The Theory Evening will be held onsite at Valley Farm from 7 pm so you may need to make arrangements to leave town early to arrive in time to set up camp etc. You can arrive from 4PM.

The campsite is at Valley Farm at Narbethong which has the following facilities
Showers and Toilets
Wood fired camp stove
Running water
Under cover outdoors area
Huge campfire area
Club room which will be used for the theory presentation
Grassed camping area
Caravans and Campers welcome

The MJOC Trip Leader Training Weekend is held over an evening theory and 2 full days in the bush involving practical exercisers that portray situations that a Trip Leader may encounter on a trip.

A pre-requisite is that you must have completed the MJOC Advanced Driver Training. Participants must complete the whole weekend training program including the theory presentation.

The training includes all facets of planning a trip, safety, communications, convoy management, managing a recovery in various situations and using different equipment, planning for emergencies and various recovery and winching exercises.

The practical is held the Saturday and Sunday in the Marysville and Big River forests or other areas as advised.

Existing Trip Leader Support

Refresher for existing Trip Leaders
If you are a already a trip leader and have not run a trip for a while or are a bit rusty on technology etc. you are most welcome to attend as a refresher. You can do either the theory or practical or both.
