Muster Saturday Social Trip – Apollo Bay, Aireys Inlet and Lorne

Let’s head out for an easy social trip heading East down the Great Ocean Road. Meet at camp at 9am for a 9:30am departure. We will head down to Apollo Bay where we will stop for morning tea at a bakery famous for their scallop pies (Zoli did taste test them when we were in the area 2 years ago and rated them highly!).

From Apollo Bay we will then meander down the Great Ocean Road taking in the spectacular views all the way down to Aireys Inlet where we will check out the lighthouse made famous in the kids tv show Round the Twist. After some photo’s of the lighthouse and checking out the nearby lookout we will backtrack down the Great Ocean Road to Lorne where we can stop for an hour or so to grab some lunch at a café and explore the town.

Once we’re done in Lorne we will begin the trip back north to camp while stopping at Erskine Falls along the way for more photo opportunities. Erskine Falls has an easy walk to the first lookout or a more strenuous climb down 230 steps to the second lookout if you’re feeling energetic.

Please note that Erskine Falls is no dogs allowed as it is in the Great Otway National Park. Anyone with dogs can skip this stop and head straight back to camp, or make the stop and keep your dogs in the car at your own risk of fine if spotted by Park Rangers.

This is a social day out — ideal for newer members, daily drivers, performance models and anyone who enjoys their Jeep or other special road vehicle on the open road.
