Track Clearing - Rubicon State Forest

About this event

TRACK CLEARING - RUBICON AREA

TRIP LEADER - Zoli Deak

Get the Jeeps ready for a day of off-road adventure, teamwork and giving back to the bush!

DEECA Alexandra has allocated the Melbourne Jeep Owners Club four seasonally closed tracks on the Royston Range to assist with track-clearing activities.

This is a great opportunity for club members to get out on the tracks, put their Jeeps to work and help maintain some of the area's iconic four-wheel-drive routes. We'll be working together to clear fallen trees, branches and other obstacles, helping ensure the tracks are ready for future reopening and recreational use.

Tracks to Be Cleared

Our track-clearing activities will cover four seasonally closed tracks in the Rubicon State Forest:

  • No. 6 Track

  • Herbs Track

  • Royston Range Track

  • Hobins Track

Expect a hands-on day in the bush, plenty of teamwork and, of course, some great four-wheel-driving along the way.

Chainsaw Operators Required

Chainsaw Operators: A current FWDV-accredited Chainsaw Certificate is required for members wishing to operate a chainsaw during the track-clearing activities.

If you're qualified and have your own chainsaw and relevant PPE, we'd love to have you involved.

Members without chainsaw qualifications are still encouraged to come along and help with other track-clearing duties, spotting, moving smaller debris and supporting the team.

Get Involved

This isn't just another day on the tracks — it's a chance for the Melbourne Jeep Owners Club to work alongside DEECA, support responsible four-wheel driving and help look after the bush we all enjoy exploring.

Bring your Jeep, your enthusiasm and your willingness to get stuck in. Let's make a day of it, clear some tracks and leave the Rubicon State Forest in better shape than we found it!

What to Bring:
Food & Drinks – Pack enough food and water to keep you fuelled throughout the day.
Chainsaw & PPE – If you're a certified operator, bring your chainsaw and all required personal protective equipment.
Your Jeep & Recovery Gear – Come prepared for a day of four-wheel driving and track-clearing.
A Can-Do Attitude – Bring your enthusiasm, teamwork and a willingness to get stuck in!
A Sense of Adventure – Most importantly, come ready for a great day out with the club.

Please note: First, register everyone in your Jeep for the event, then make sure you also hit the “Volunteer!” button so we know you’re keen to get stuck in and help with the track-clearing action.
