The Melbourne Jeep Owners Club Story

A history of the Melbourne Jeep Owners Club by founding President Ian Fletcher

The Melbourne Jeep Owners Club started out in 1997 as a discussion with a few Jeep owners who wanted something else from their Jeep drive day training experience with the Brighton Jeep dealership and Adrian Du Jardin at the Angelsea Driver Training Complex, the idea quickly grew momentum with a meeting being organised with predominantly clients of Brighton Jeep at the showroom. We had approximately 30 people come along, all eager to start a club and get out and enjoy their Jeep in the bush. The first meeting resulted with a committee being formed and the first trip being planned.

We Get 'Em Dirty

Since the club started we have had the slogan 'We Get 'Em Dirty' and it has been proudly worn on vehicle stickers and club merchandise since 1997.

The slogan was originaly the name of the club's monthly Newsletter as well and came about as a result of the many models of muddy and dirty Jeep's that have been in the

club over the years and were very often seen heading back from a day out covered in mud.

The slogan still adorns many Jeeps in the club nowadays and stickers can be purchased from the club shop.
