Narbethong Recce - Stuart Gibson Trip Leader

Narbethong Recce - Stuart Gibson Trip Leader

A recce of the usual tracks
This trip into the Narbethong Forest will seek out some technically challenging tracks for a Medium rated trip to be listed in October. This trip will aim at the more challenging end of the Medium rating.

In line with policy I have rated this Recce one level higher at "Difficult".

We will travel at a reasonable rate in order to cover as much ground as possible. Expect some slippery hills and a couple of mud puddles and a water crossing.

Trip leader special/additional requirements

Electric Winch
Tree Trunk Protector
Mud Terrain tyres or aggressive All Terrain tyres

Vehicle set up requirements

Please note that this trip is more suitable for vehicles that have been lifted with larger aggressive All Terrain or Mud Terrain Tyres.

All vehicles need to be equipped with an electric winch.

Vehicles with good articulation (disconnecting front sway bars) will have an advantage. IFR vehicles may have to bypass some obstacles.

Vehicles with one or more diff locks will have an advantage although it will be possible to complete with only traction control.

Please contact the Trip Leader or Operations Officer if unsure about your vehicle.

Important Note for members - Please ensure your vehicle is in good mechanical condition for the trip. Your vehicle should be equipped for the rating for this trip including special Trip Leader requirements. The Trip Leader may not allow you or your vehicle to participate on the trip if trip requirements are not met.
